عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: كَانَ رَجُلٌ يَقْرَأُ سُورَةَ الْكَهْفِ، وَإِلَى جَانِبِهِ حِصَانٌ مَرْبُوطٌ بِشَطَنَيْنِ، فَتَغَشَّتْهُ سَحَابَةٌ، فَجَعَلَتْ تَدْنُو وَتَدْنُو وَجَعَلَ فَرَسُهُ يَنْفِرُ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ: تِلْكَ سَكِينَةُ تَنَزَّلَتْ بِالْقُرْآنِ
Al-Baraa Ibn Azib, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that a man was reciting Surah al-Kahf, and he had his horse tied with two ropes beside him. A cloud came down and began to approach him, and the horse began to get restless. When morning came, he told the Prophet ﷺ what had happened. The Prophet ﷺ said: "That was the Sakinah (tranquility) which descended because of the Qur'an."

In the Qur'an, sakinah refers to the tranquility and reassurance that Allah sends upon the hearts of believers in moments of difficulty, worship, and closeness to Him. This is the spirit our community gathers around.

«وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا»"And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided." (Surah Al-Imran: 103)
To nurture this unshakeable bond of brotherhood, we create spaces for Collective Worship and Remembrance of Allah. These gatherings are the heartbeat of our programs, confirming the blessings of shared faith as the Prophet ﷺ promised:
«لَا يَقْعُدُ قَوْمٌ يَذْكُرُونَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِلَّا حَفَّتْهُمْ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَغَشِيَتْهُمْ الرَّحْمَةُ وَنَزَلَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ سَكِينَةُ وَذَكَرَهُمْ اللَّهُ فِيمَنْ عِنْدَهُ»"No people gather to remember Allah but they are surrounded by angels and covered by Mercy, and there descends upon them tranquility (Sakinah) as they remember Allah, and Allah mentions them to those with Him." (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2700)

«مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ»"When Allah wishes good for anyone, He bestows upon him the comprehension of the religion." (Agreed Upon: Bukhari 71, Muslim 1037)
With this inspiration, our Inspirational Lectures & Duroos feature teachings rooted in the Holy Qur'an and the Dignified Sunnah. Presented by respected Imams, these sessions cover the foundations of faith and provide practical guidance for living with God-consciousness (Taqwa). We deepen this understanding through Contemplation of the Qur'an (Tadabbur).
«كِتَابٌ أَنزَلْنَاهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوا آيَاتِهِ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُولُو الْأَلْبَابِ»"[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded." (Surah Saad: 29)
Experiencing Night Prayer's Power
This devotion culminates in our Night Prayers (Qiyam & Tahajjud)—gatherings dedicated to reflection and prayer during the peaceful hours of the night.
This practice is a powerful means of drawing closer to your Creator, described by the Prophet ﷺ as:
«أَفْضَلُ الصَّلَاةِ بَعْدَ الْفَرِيضَةِ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ»"The best Salat after the prescribed Salat is Salat at night." (Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1163)
These prayers serve as a powerful means of personal transformation, for the Prophet ﷺ also said:
«عَلَيْكُمْ بِقِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ فَإِنَّهُ دَأْبُ الصَّالِحِينَ قَبْلَكُمْ وَهُوَ قُرْبَةٌ لَكُمْ إِلَى رَبِّكُمْ وَمَكْفَرَةٌ لِلسَّيِّئَاتِ وَمَنْهَاةٌ عَنِ الْإِثْمِ»"Make a practice of getting up at night, for it was the custom of the pious before you, is a means of bringing you near to your Lord, an atonement for evil deeds and a preventative of sin." (Tirmidhi, Mishkat al-Masabih 1227)
